Aerial Lift Platform Training
Meeting all the regulations under OHSA and the CSA standards, our aerial lift platform training will provide participants with a general understanding of the safe and efficient operation of “Power Operated Mobile Work Platforms”. Participants will be able to identify specific health and safety related hazards associated with operating Man-lifts.
Our program is taught on-site at your facility and is divided into two segments, a theory component and a practical component.
Theory consists of an in class theoretical course followed by a competency evaluation and review. Practical consists of an on site evaluation which will verify the individuals ability to operate a specific Man-lift, in a safe manner.
Theory Session:
- Review related sections of the OHS Act, CSA Standards and Regulations
- Complete review of “fall arrest” required, and recommended
- Pre-shift equipment inspection and work area survey requirements
- Review site-specific hazards, and controls for safe operation of a Man-lift
- Review safety decals, load capabilities, and specific equipment requirements
- Key elements for safe operation of “Power Elevated Mobile Platforms”
Practical Session:
- Complete a pre – use inspection of the aerial platform
- Correctly put on and inspect “fall arrest” equipment
- Actually drive, position, and elevate the aerial platform
- Be evaluated on individual operating skills
Confined Space Training
Program Theory Components:
- Discuss and evaluate specific confined spaces at your location
- Review and discuss your confined space entry policy, procedures, program and plan
- Review and discuss assessment of hazards related to your confined spaces
- Ensuring safeguards are in place to protect entrants from these hazards
- Learn the requirements of on-site rescue and related training for a confined space emergency
- Learn requirements for on-site entry equipment (lanyards, belts, harnesses, etc.)
- Learn requirements for on-site respiratory equipment and other personal protective equipment
- Learn requirements for testing and monitoring equipment
- Learn requirements for on-site entry permits and evaluate or develop your permit
- Guarding against unauthorized entry to the confined space
- All participants must complete theory training prior to practical training
Crane Training
Developed to help ensure pendent crane operators who work with lifting devices and sling their own loads will meet the requirements of a “Competent Person”. Participants will learn to deal with the associated hazards of operating cranes and rigging loads.
Our program consists of theoretical and practical components to help ensure competency.
Participants will learn theory including:
- Requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Industrial Regulations
- Pre-use/shift inspection of slings, lifting points and pendent crane
- Load limits and capacity of crane and lifting components
- Safe distances
- Standard hand signals
- Standard safe practices
- Use of chains, slings, spreader bars, grabbers, and other attachments
- Inspection of harness and equipment
- Donning of a harness with each participant
Participants will learn practical including:
- Inspecting the crane, slings, fittings and attachments
- Estimate load weights
- Practice proper rigging and lifting procedures
- Rig and lift loads
Hoist Training
Developed to provide operators with the safe operation of hoists. Training consists of theoretical and practical components and testing.
Participants will Learn:
- Legislative guidelines and standards for compliance
- Hoist operation
- Moving loads
- Inspections
- Loads, balance and center of gravity
- Sling types
- Bolts, rings and shackles
Lift Truck Training
Our lift truck operator program teaches the safe operation of Lift Trucks. Developed to meet the OH&S Act and CSA Standards to ensure operators of lift trucks are competent persons. Our training will increase operator productivity by making them more competent operators that will reduce the risk of product damage, property damage and/or accidents.
Our program consists of a theoretical component and a practical operator evaluation. All materials and forms are provided.

Mobile Hearing Testing
Since 1997, CBHM has been working with clients to help arrange and facilitate mobile hearing testing within Canada. With 24 hour testing capability to accommodate all shift requirements through the access of multiple sound rooms with accompanying computerized audiometers, all housed within a comfortable setting, testing and time efficiency is maximized. Computer analysis of findings and reporting are also available.

Part Two Workplace Specific Hazards Training
Part Two Workplace Specific Hazards training focuses on the concepts of recognition, assessment, control of hazards, and evaluation of the hazard controls. Participants will learn how to apply these concepts to a minimum of six (6) hazards for a particular sector or sub-sector relevant to their own workplaces. The learner will also practice drafting action plans and recommendations for the employer through an activity.
The employer will conduct a workplace hazard assessment to select the most appropriate Part Two Workplace Specific Hazards training for their JHSC members. Employers are encouraged to conduct this assessment in consultation with their existing JHSC members.

JHSC Refresher Training
Propane Heater Tiger Torch Training
Safety in the workplace is everyone’s responsibility. This chemical safety training has been designed to help you develop the skills and attitudes that will enable you to work in a safe and accident free manner. During this workshop, you will increase your knowledge of propane (liquid petroleum gas), and tiger torch handling, develop better understanding of safe practices, and improve your attitudes and habits about the use and safe handling of propane and equipment.

Spills Response Training

Transportation of Dangerous Goods

What Workers Need To Know

Working at Heights Refresher Training
Training validity is three years* from the date of successful completion; thereafter, refresher training must be taken by a worker on a construction project using one of the listed fall protection methods. Workers will be able to renew the validity of the working at heights training by successfully completing a CPO-approved half-day “refresher” training program, delivered by a CPO approved training provider.
